What is a Pulsed Fetal Heartbeat Detector?
The vast majority of pulse detectors on the global market use a continuous ultrasonic wave, i.e. the signal is transmitted continuously. A pulse detector, like a radar, first sends a short transmit pulse and then picks up echoes from a specific area; e.g. it does not pick up loud signals from the skin and adjacent tissues (contact interference). Only a few companies have managed to construct a camera with such a complex working method.
Advantages of pulsed fetal heart rate detectors:
- compact housing (no cable at the head, which is susceptible to damage)
- small size and light weight
- the ability to operate the camera with one hand,
- no contact interference
